New Classroom Blocks Transform Learning at Anyiribu Primary School

In 2024, the Scandinavian (Nordic) Lions Clubs International (NSR) funded the construction of two classroom blocks at Anyiribu Primary School in Madi Okollo District, Uganda, helping to improve the learning environment for pupils in the community.

The project was funded by the Nordic Lions through Lions Aid Norway, which channelled the financial support for the construction. Spice of Life oversaw the implementation of the project, working with local stakeholders to ensure the classrooms were constructed and completed.

Before the project, the school faced a serious shortage of classroom space. A number of pupils had been learning in tents provided by UNICEF, highlighting the urgent need for permanent and suitable learning facilities.

The construction of the two classroom blocks has provided the school with additional permanent learning space, giving pupils a more conducive environment in which to study and teachers a better setting in which to conduct lessons.

The project is another example of how Lions Clubs International and its partners support communities through investments in education and improved infrastructure.

For Anyiribu Primary School and the surrounding community, the new classrooms represent an important step towards creating better learning conditions for children and supporting their education for years to come.
