Oppdal High School in Norway has for the second time come to the aid of schools in Uganda with Safe water. A couple of years ago they donated 2 boreholes; one to Zobele Memorial Vocational Institute (2012) in Arua-West Nile Region and another to Palema Primary School (2013) in Amuru District, Northern Uganda.
They have done it again. On Thursday, May 4th, on behalf of her fellow students, Mona Alver Krogen, commissioned a borehole at Nakonge Primary School in Wakiso District. A day later her counterpart, Eirunn Horvli, commissioned another borehole at Kawsum modern School in Luwero District. Both are in Central Uganda.
The colourful ceremony was graced by the area member of Parliament, the Resident District Commissioner, the Town Clerk, the Town Council Speaker, the Mayor, the Local Council leaders, among others. This was a big sign of Government ownership and appreciation.
Below are key moments during the Nankoge borehole commissioning.
